Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest island, about 69 km off the west coast and 11 km from Cambodia. It covers roughly 575 km², has about 179,000 residents (2020), and is a special zone of An Giang province. Visitors arriving directly from abroad can stay 30 days visa-free. The 4-island speedboat tour (about 9 hours) combines snorkeling, Aquatopia Water Park and the Hon Thom cable car, a 7.9 km ride recognized by Guinness as the world’s longest. For a shorter trip, the sunset squid fishing cruise takes about 4 hours. Families often add Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest semi-wild conservation park (380 hectares). It takes 3 to 4 hours and is best visited in the morning, followed by VinWonders in the afternoon.

Best Time To Visit Phu Quoc Island

The best time to visit Phu Quoc Island is during the dry season, which runs from November to March. During these months, you can expect sunny weather, clear skies, and pleasant temperatures, making it ideal for beach activities and outdoor exploration.

  • November to March: This period offers the most comfortable weather, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the island’s stunning beaches.
  • April to June: While slightly hotter, this time is still good for visits, with fewer tourists and vibrant tropical scenery.
  • July to October: This is the rainy season, with more frequent showers and humidity. However, if you don’t mind a bit of rain, you can find great deals on accommodations and enjoy a quieter atmosphere.
